what is hot melt adhesive
Hot melt adhesives are thermoplastic adhesives that are solid at room temperature but liquefy at higher temperatures. When heated to a certain temperature will melt into a viscous liquid, molten liquid coating, moistening temperature substrate, after compression, cooling to room temperature, in a few seconds to complete the adhesive bonding, that is, to form a bond. Representative of the melting temperature is 65 ℃ ~ 180 ℃. It is 100% solid free of any solvent and therefore meets the most stringent air pollution control requirements with little risk of fire or explosion. In addition, hot-melt adhesives have the following advantages for users:
1) fast curing speed reduces the amount of compression required for gluing, so the production speed can be improved and the equipment space can be saved
2) can be followed on the disrelish water surface, and do not need to use the wet stream agent. Therefore, it has water resistance and excellent storage stability
3) because 100% solid parts are completely usable, there is less waste, which can reduce transportation and storage costs
4) can be followed by a wide range of substrate, can be automated
Characteristics and USES
Hot melt adhesive has a wide range of USES, such as equipment and price can become a cost-effective material. The packaging industry accounts for more than 50% of the market for hot-melt adhesives, including corrugated cardboard boxes, corrugated paper boxes, laminated cans, tape and other laminated coating materials. Nonwoven textiles include sanitary napkins, diapers, garment fitting, stitching, etc. Woven products include garments, seams, tape, carpet backing tape. Office supplies include tape, official documents, self-adhesive labels, file folders. The parts portfolio includes soda, electronics, book packaging, furniture, footwear, diy crafts, and carpentry, plywood, etc.
